NSF Grant Awarded

The National Science Foundation has awarded a three year, $330,000 grant on my project entitled "Priming of Organohalide-Respirers to Degrade Chlorinated Ethenes with Natural Organochlorines". This work will determine the feasibility of using naturally occurring chlorinated compounds - found in soils and sediments - as a tool to clean up groundwater and other sites contaminated with certain toxic chemicals, such as those often used in dry-cleaning industries.  http://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=1511767&HistoricalAwards=false
